The Legends Celebrate Legendary Classical KDFC
Classical KDFC has been named the 2024 Legendary Station by the Bay Area Radio Museum & Hall of Fame.
KDFC signed on in 1948 and has held its classical music format for 75 years.
The Broadcast Legends are celebrating this historic and remarkable achievement by throwing a luncheon celebration on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the Basque Cultural Center in South San Francisco.
Mingling begins at 11:30 am, lunch is served at noon, and the program begins at 1 pm.
Hear the history of KDFC as told by current and former staff members, many of whom are members of the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame.

Women In Broadcasting 2024
March is Women’s History Month.
To commemorate Women’s History Month, the Broadcast Legends invite you to join us as we honor “Ten Legendary Women in Radio and TV Broadcasting.” These women exemplify this year’s theme of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Our panelists include Dana King, Rebecca Corral, Claudine Wong, Joanne Greene, Carolyn Tyler, Miranda Wilson, Roberta Gonzales, Holly Quan, Freska Griarte, and Jessica Aguirre.
They will share stories and take questions from our emcees, Sue Hall and Rosie Allen.
Join us on Wednesday, March 13, at the Basque Cultural Center in South San Francisco as these ten women share personal stories about their careers and some of the experiences that helped blaze their trail.
Doors open at 11:30 AM for our regular mix-and-mingle and no-host bar, followed by lunch at noon. Our program follows at 1 PM.

The Broadcast Legends Holiday Lunch has always been special, and this year’s edition will be a don’t miss affair.
Set for our “home base” of the Basque Cultural Center in South San Francisco on Friday December 8th, the luncheon will feature lively conversation, great food and a program designed to jump start your Holiday Season.
Meet and mingle starts at 11:30AM followed by a special Holiday lunch at noon.
The program kicks off with Ben Fong Torres and friends Kurt Huget and Rachel Garlin with a wide variety of holiday musical numbers specially chosen for the occasion.
Legends resident storyteller, Dan Odum, will be along with a reading of “A Texas Christmas Story” designed to put even Scrooge in the holiday spirit.
Channel 7’s very own Rockin’ Anchor, Dan Ashley will be along to add his musical talents.
And the Legends Old Time Radio Players will take center stage with the re-creation of a 70-year-old Lone Ranger episode where the masked man and his Indian companion break up a bank robbery and save a young man from taking the wrong road in the bargain.
